Dr. Gina Wong

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Wong believes in the human capacity to thrive and grow in the midst of challenge and uncertainty; and that living with intention and engagement with our relationship with ourselves, is the foundation to living a life and a love that's one for the ages. 

Dr. Wong works towards cultural humility, social justice, stewardship of the environment, naming and identifying systems of oppression, advocating for reproductive and perinatal mental health, and affecting meaningful shifts for generations to come through how they work as a psychologist and who they are as an Asian woman.

In all her work, Gina strives to foster relationships that are authentic, culturally safer, and inspires a feeling of belonging, acceptance, and connection.

 

​As an Asian woman, she is forthright about her journey from elision (invisibility) to power. Gina seeks to create and contribute to lasting impact on individuals and communities through her work as a psychologist, and through her advocacy work in social justice, through her research, publications, and speaking engagements.

Dr. Wong offers clinical services, supervision of provisional psychologists, and consultation services. She supports personal and professional growth of others, within her areas of specialization including Reproductive Mental Health Forensics, Parenting & Attachment; Racial Trauma and Asian Psychology and Women's Leadership.

Speaker/Educator

Dr. Wong is an award winning media spokesperson for anti-hate recognized by the Alberta Psychological Association. She strives to inspire individuals and organizations to exact positive changes in areas of inclusivity, diversity, and equity. She also shares her own stories of race and belonging, and educates about her areas of specialties.

Book Author/Editor & Courses

Dr. Wong published a book and several chapters. She's edited a number of books. In her latest writing, she shares experiences about racial trauma, internalized racism, and her path evolving to leadership and personal power in "We Rise in Power: Amplifying Women of Colour and Our Voices for Change."
